DEADLINE EXTENDED - Shine Awards
If you haven't already entered your work do so now - the deadline has been extended to Friday 15th June
Entries for Coley Porter Bell’s annual award ‘Shine’ are now open. Every year, we search for
the ‘shiniest’ young design talent in the UK. The winner of the award receives a cash prize of
£3,000 and a 3 month placement in our design studio, to be taken once you’ve graduated.
In order to enter, you need to be a 2nd year student graduating in 2013. Please email/send
in one piece of design work that you feel best shows off your talent. Photocopies are
accepted. All entries should be sent to:

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to our design studio to present their portfolio. They will then be given a creative brief to complete as part of the final selection process.

FdA 2 Teaching Planned Teaching Schedule for next few weeks:

May 16th: Vanessa (PP Presentations)
May 21st: Vanessa - please all be in for 1:1 tutorials
May 22nd: Karen - tutorial slots to be booked (request a slot or I'll allocate you one)
May 23rd: John Reynolds (last chance to book a photography slot with him - list on the board!)
May 28th: Vanessa - please all be in for 1:1 tutorials
May 29th: Myles (for all your screen printing needs!)
May 30th: Peter Quinell - tutorial slots to be booked (request a slot or I'll allocate you one)
After this it will be all about the board painting, show hanging and general last minute FMP-ing!

Important Note for the First Years:
Good News! Your essay deadline with Gary Neil has been extended until Thursday May 24th.
This means that the web design module presentation deadline will be extended to Thursday 31st May.
ALSO - NO NEED TO COME IN THIS WEDNESDAY 16th MAY - PRIVATE STUDY TIME as the 2nd years will be presenting to me all day.
On Thursday 17th - Hannah will be with you all day again. Please be here at 10am and make the most her help with your written work - both for Professional Practice and Gary's essay.
I'll see you on Friday 18th, be ready for the interim Professional Practice presentations. I'll also be giving you the last task for your web design modules that day.

DEADLINES
Just so everyone is clear, the deadlines are as follows for each Year Group:
FINAL DEADLINE: Hand in on Tuesday 29th May at 12 noon. (ALL work to be complete)
FINAL DEADLINE: Wednesday 13th June. 12 noon.
ALL work completed and hung ready for your show. You may not add to, or change it after this point.

On Monday 21st May you will be presenting your work in progress for your FMP to the rest of the group. I'll split these into morning and afternoon sessions between you which I'll post on the noticeboard. You must attend the whole of your session as it's important you critique, and receive critique, from others on your work.
At this point I'd expect to see your work almost completed and at the refining stage. Please bring sketchbooks for discussion too.
