If you go through to the Guardian Website there is an article on how to design and upload your own political posters for the general election - and if you go through to makeyourmark, you can submit your own of download PDF's of your favourites.The best ones are the pure typographic versions - word play like 're-new-labour is really clever and simple, and the sort of concept that you could build a whole winning campaign on.
This is pretty close to a brief that year 1 are working on, so I'd recommend you have a close look.
( you know, we do actually think about the work we set you - we don't just make it up on the day.... )
