Roberto de Vicq de Cumptich

This is probably some of the best work I've found online in a couple of years - and very relevant to all of you. I'm not a huge fan of the navigation on the website - you need to use your head to find your way about... but that's all part of the intrigue. Includes the wonderful Bembo Zoo and Words at Play.

  2. Not overly keen on the typographic work (portraits and animals), but his book covers have left me speechless. It is things like these that make me feel I'm on the wrong course. Can't decide whether it's motivating or disheartening.

  3. I love the typo portraits, because I know how incredibly skilled you have to be to create something like that. His book covers are wonderful too - but I had a conversation today with a couple of Top Up students about them and pointed out that they are obviously by someone who has reached the stage where art directors just leave them to get on with it and don't dare interfere - it takes years to have that much control, so I wouldn't feel too disheartend - I'm sure he had years of hard work battling to get his ideas across and sharpening his skills.
