Antony Gormley at the De La Warr

Just announced - Antony Gormley will install 'Critical Mass' - up to 60 life size sculptures of himself - on the roof of the De La Warr from next month - all the details are here.

This is a major event - he has already produced sculptures that sit along the rooftops of New York - and a similar installation is sited along the beach in Crosby, near Liverpool - and it's fantastic. It's a major coup for the De La Warr so make sure you get there.

Critical Mass was made in 1995 in direct response to the Remise railway terminus in Vienna. Although it has been exhibited in several major solo shows throughout Europe, and in part in the Hayward Blind Light exhibition in 2007, this is the first time it has been exhibited as a whole in the UK since the Tate St. Ives exhibition in 2001.
