Pentagram have launched a new website, they have an excellent blog and you can follow them on Facebook. Design blogs are an excellent way to know what's current in the industry, follow trends and find out who is working on what. You can also hear about potential internships and current work experience projects.
When FDA2 have their interviews later this year they will be expected to talk with confidence and be well informed about the industry. I suggest you select 5 agencies that you personaly like, use their social communication to have a really good overview of what they are up to at the moment and brief yourself to talk about them and the industry at large.
If an interviewer says something off-field like "why do you want to be a designer when the industry is in crisis" - the last thing you want to do is freeze up - you should be able to think of 20 real facts that prove it isn't.
I've selected Pentagram because they are a collective rather than a single agency - so there is always a lot happening at any one time - their Facebook feed is really busy and it's an easy way to keep informed - lots of agencies use twitter too.
