Two quick posts about photography

Here are some fantastic Victorian photographs of spiritualists and ectoplasm - supposed ghostly matter that appeared during seances. It's hard to believe that people were taken in by something so crude - but this was an age when photography was 'magical' and there were many people who believed the camera could steal your soul. The techniques here are exactly the same as the ones you have just used.

- and here is an AMAZING archive of Australian mugshot images from the 1930's - from City of Shadows - these are real people, some of them look so modern you could almost recognise the faces, and the large plate photography is absolutly beautiful.
